How It Works when you are running a Logo Design Contest:

1. Create a Free Account as a "Contest Holder"
First, you need to register as a contest holder. Creating an account allows you to start your own contests and gives you access to the Private Message system.

2. Fill out the Design Brief and choose the prize amount.

Next, you fill out the "Design Brief", this is where you provide all of the details for your logo design contest.

Make sure that you are as thorough as possible when filling out the Design Brief, as this is the information that the designers will use to design entries for your contest.

You also set the amount that you wish to pay the designer who's entry you pick as the winner. There is no minimum prize amount, but we encourage you to enter whatever you feel is a fair amount for what you are requesting. You will need to pay this amount once you select the winning entry.

NOTE: We do have a feature that allows you to PrePay the prize once you have started a logo contest. When you PrePay a prize you are guaranteeing that you will pick a winner. This gives the designers assurance and can result in more and higher quality entries. This option will be presented to you once you have started your logo contest.

3. Designers create and submit entries.

Once you have paid the $19 fee to start your logo contest, your contest is live and posted to all of the registered logo designers.

Logo Designers then read your design brief and create and submit entries.

If you need to update the contest or post more information you can easily do so by posting a new comment on the contest detail page.

4.
Comment on and rate each entry.

In order to provide the designers with as much direction as possible, it is important that you provide some sort of comment for each entry, letting the submitting designer know what you think of the entry and if it is in line with what you are looking for.

Remember that not only the submitting designer but ALL the designers can see your comments on each entry, so you are providing direction to all of the designers and not just the one who's entry you are commenting on.

We also encourage you to rate each entry on a score of 1 to 5 using our handy one click rating tool, with 1 meaning you hate it and 5 meaning that it is really, really nice.

5.
Select the entry you like best and pay that designer the prize.

Each logo contest runs for a maximum of 10 days, but you can select a winner at any time (you can also select a winner for up to 14 days after a contest ends). Once you have selected a winning entry, the contest will be closed and you will need to pay the winning designer the prize amount you set when you started the contest.

The prize payment is made through eLogoContest using PayPal.

6.
Download the completed logo in all of the formats you will need for web and for print.

Once you have paid the prize payment and eLogoContest staff has verified it, the designer uploads the winning entry in the following formats:

The original, layered source file for the winning logo, with all fonts converted to shapes, as well as versions of the logo in the following formats: .jpg, .gif, .png, .tiff, eps and .pdf.
